Temperament & Personality

Shares the high intelligence and playful nature of its larger cousin but in a more compact package. Can still be very demanding and nippy.

Vocalization & Talking Ability

Can learn to talk and mimic, but are primarily known for their loud natural calls.

Dietary Needs

A low-fat pelleted diet is important. Supplement with a variety of vegetables. Use seeds and nuts only for training treats.

Health & Lifespan

Can live for 40-50 years. Prone to the same issues as other Sulphur-Crested 'toos: feather plucking, PBFD, and obesity. They also produce a lot of dander.

Housing Requirements

Not suitable for apartments. Requires a strong and secure cage with plenty of toys. Minimum size: 30"W x 24"D x 48"H.
