1. Welfare standards

• Parrots must be legally owned, captive-bred, and weaned unless listing clearly states specialized care requirements.
• Wild-caught or endangered species protected by CITES and Lacey Act regulations are prohibited.
• Sellers must provide accurate temperament, health status, and care expectations.

2. Verification requirements

• Government-issued ID and current address.
• USDA or local breeder/rescue licence where applicable.
• Recent veterinary documentation for parrots listed for sale or adoption.

3. Moderation workflow

1. Automated screening for prohibited keywords, duplicate media, and suspicious activity.
2. Human review within 24 hours for new sellers and flagged updates.
3. Listings may require edits or be rejected with guidance. Repeat violations result in suspension.

4. Buyer safety

• Keep all communication and payments within Find Your Parrot.
• Request live video chats to confirm the parrot matches the listing.
• Arrange meetups in safe, neutral locations or use approved transporters.

5. Reporting & enforcement

We investigate every report of fraud, misrepresentation, or welfare violations. Confirmed issues may be referred to local authorities or the USDA. Repeat offenders are permanently banned.
