Temperament & Personality

Intelligent, inquisitive, and playful. They can be slightly quieter and more reserved than other Sulphur-Crested subspecies, but still require a huge amount of social interaction.

Vocalization & Talking Ability

Fair talkers. They can learn a number of words and phrases but are more known for their loud screams.

Dietary Needs

A low-fat pelleted diet is crucial to prevent obesity. Supplement with a wide variety of vegetables and very limited fruit.

Health & Lifespan

Can live for 40-50 years. Prone to feather plucking, PBFD, and fatty liver disease. They are known to produce a lot of feather dust.

Housing Requirements

Not suitable for apartments. They need a strong, durable cage with plenty of toys. Minimum size: 30"W x 24"D x 48"H.
