Temperament & Personality

Intelligent and playful. They are often considered to be a bit calmer and less prone to the intense aggression of the other two 'yellow head' types, but still require firm handling.

Very good talkers, though perhaps slightly less gifted on average than the Yellow-naped and Double Yellow-headed.

Dietary Needs

A low-fat diet is crucial. Base the diet on pellets and a wide variety of vegetables.

Can live for 60+ years. Prone to obesity, fatty liver disease, and Vitamin A deficiency.

Housing Requirements

Needs a large, strong cage. Minimum 36"W x 24"D x 48"H. Unsuitable for apartments.
