Temperament & Personality

Intelligent, sensitive, and can be more reserved than the Congo. They are known to be less prone to anxiety.

Vocalization & Talking Ability

Excellent talkers and mimics, often starting at a younger age than Congos. Their voice is less a perfect imitation and more their 'own' voice.

Dietary Needs

A high-quality pelleted diet, supplemented with fresh vegetables, fruits, and some nuts. They require adequate calcium and Vitamin A.

Health & Lifespan

Can live for 50-80 years. Prone to calcium deficiency, Vitamin A and D deficiency, respiratory infections, and feather plucking if bored or stressed.

Housing Requirements

Needs a large space. A minimum cage size of 36"W x 24"D x 48"H is recommended. Not ideal for apartments unless the owner is home a lot and can manage noise.
