Temperament & Personality

Goofy, affectionate, and intelligent. They are less prone to being nippy than other conures and have big personalities in small bodies.

Vocalization & Talking Ability

Can learn some words, but their voices are gravelly and not very clear. They often learn to mimic household sounds.

Dietary Needs

A standard conure diet of pellets, fresh vegetables, and some fruit. Ensure a varied diet to keep them engaged.

Health & Lifespan

Generally robust and can live 15-25 years with proper care. Can be prone to polyomavirus. They love to snuggle in fabric, so be cautious about cloth huts that can cause crop impaction or strangulation.

Housing Requirements

Perfect for apartments. They are relatively quiet and their smaller size means a cage of 20"W x 20"D x 24"H is a good minimum size, though larger is always better.
